Roger Federer should stick to tennis

The tennis great thinks that Cristiano Ronaldo needs to achieve more to be considered The Best Player in the World:

"He is having a great season at Manchester United, has scored many goals and at the end of the season will be in the European Championship...But, If he wants to be the best in the world he has to win the Euros."

But that is entirely wrong. Best Player in the World status cannot be tied only to winning trophies since football is a team game and therefore Ronaldo is as dependent on his teammates as they are on him.

Football is not like tennis where one man is left standing: it is a collection of over twenty players, not to mention the manager. For Federer's argument to be correct every player on Portugal's team would then have to become the best player in the world whereas the tournament itself is only about the team becoming the best...in Europe...

  1. Federrer has point. Ronnie must win Euros or World Cup.
