Craig Foster: No Question Now About Ronaldo's Worth

"It took a mere second for the run, leap and gorgeous header to catapult United into the lead over Roma during the week, and subsequently most likely into the UEFA Champions League semi-finals at least. But this, Cristiano Ronaldo's 36th goal of the season and seventh in the UCL carried much greater import as it secured for the Portuguese superstar the title of best player in the world.

There can be no question now about his worth, particularly given the fate of the other leading contenders. Kaka's team is out of the UCL and suffering under the weight of a poor domestic campaign, and Lionel Messi is injured and out of mind."
