Ribery The Best Player in the World?

He's Canadian - so what does he know about real football, eh? But Morris Dalla Costa of The London Free Press has been watching a lot of the Bundesliga this season - perhaps because like a lot of Canadians he cannot afford this season's Setanta package - and he has enjoyed watching Franck Ribery of Bayern Munich:

"The headlines are usually reserved for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, even guys like David Beckham who have done little to deserve headlines...Yet one player sure to provide headlines come Euro '08 never gets enough credit as arguably the best soccer player in the world...France's Franck Ribery has been anointed as the next Zinedine Zidane of French football. A relative unknown, Ribery was selected for France the first time by coach Raymond Domenech for the 2006 World Cup."
